What We Collect
When you use WIPReports, we collect:
- Account information: your name, email address, and company name
- QuickBooks Online data: project names, costs, billings, and invoices (read-only access authorized by you via OAuth)
- Data you enter: contract amounts, change orders, cost-to-complete estimates, PM contact information, and distribution list recipients
How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to:
- Generate WIP (Work-in-Progress) schedule reports
- Send estimate request emails to your project managers
- Distribute WIP schedule PDFs to your designated recipients (CPAs, sureties, banks)
We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or any purpose other than providing the WIPReports service.
QuickBooks Online Integration
WIPReports connects to your QuickBooks Online account via Intuit's OAuth 2.0 authorization. We request read-only access to your accounting data. You can disconnect WIPReports from QuickBooks at any time through your QuickBooks app management settings or through the WIPReports dashboard.
Your QBO OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest in our database.
Data Storage and Security
- All data is stored on our self-hosted servers
- All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt
- QBO tokens are encrypted at rest using Fernet symmetric encryption
- Access is restricted to your organization only (multi-tenant isolation)
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete all associated data within 30 days. WIP schedule PDFs are stored for your historical reference and can be downloaded at any time.
Third-Party Services
WIPReports uses the following third-party services:
- Intuit QuickBooks Online API (to sync your accounting data)
- Stripe (for payment processing, if subscribed)
